Description: This image shows human neurons (cyan) generated by direct conversion of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) through the overexpression of the neuronal transcription factor NGN2. The neurons are stained for MAP2, a marker for mature neurons. Mouse primary astrocytes (orange), stained for GFAP, are included in the culture to support synaptic maturation and enhance the long-term viability of the neurons. The image was captured using a Zeiss Axio Imager.Z2 microscope equipped with a 40x oil Plan-Neofluar objective.
